Daily Bible Reading for Week of February 4 - 10
In Exodus you will read of the detailed construction of the furnishings and of the Tabernacle itself. Emphasis should be noted that this was a movable structure that would be the focal point for the worship of the Jewish people. God would use the Tabernacle to receive worship from His people and where their sins could be atoned for. Leviticus will bring you into the requirements God had for the Jews to approach Him. Sacrifices are abundant and each has a particular significance. Don't let the details detour you from seeing God's holiness and the need for daily worship of Him. The daily burnt offerings were as normal to the Jew as their breakfast and dinner. God wants fellowship with His people, but on His terms. The New Testament reading will bring you to Jesus' arrest, trial, and crucifixion. You will read of His final words to the leading priests and you will also see His silence in the presence of His tormentors. Note Jesus' words on the cross. His crucifixion is very real and He actually died on the cross for us! 2/4 Exodus 36-38 2/5 Matthew 26 2/6 Exodus 39,40 2/7 Leviticus 1-4 2/8 Matthew 27 2/9 Leviticus 5-7 2/10 Leviticus 8-11
