Psalm 27:14 NKJV - "Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say on the Lord!"
Commentary: One of the major disciplines of life is learning to WAIT. Sometimes, I'm sure, we all think that "learning to wait" is forced on us whether we want to learn it or not! We all wait so often in so many different situations: waiting in line at the store; waiting in slow traffic; waiting for a tax refund to arrive; waiting for someone to make a decision; waiting for God to answer a prayer, meet a need, or correct a wrong. Waiting on God requires our accepting the perfection of God's timing as much as we learn to accept the perfection of His will. When God delays an answer to prayer or waits to fulfill a promise He's allowing us to grow in courage. This kind of courage believes God is there and He really cares for us even though He doesn't act according to our schedule. Our faith is strengthened. As a current song suggests, "When He doesn't move a mountain I wanted Him to move...I will trust in Him!" Waiting on God honors Him and believes He does what is best for His glory and for our benefit.
