John 1:38 NKJV - "Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, 'What do you seek?' They said to Him, 'Rabbi' which is to say, when translated, Teacher), 'where are You staying?'"
This question, "What do you seek?" is possibly the first recorded question Jesus asked after His baptism and as His ministry was to begin. I think this may be a good question for all of us to ask when we meet Jesus. What are we looking for now that He is in our lives? Does His presence in us really cause us to desire to be with Him as much as we can? Think about how these two men responded. They asked Him a question, "...where are You staying?" In other words, now that they met Him how could they find Him again.
Oh may the craving of my heart that I would be with Jesus as often as I can. That's pretty much what the Psalmist said in Psalm 27:4, "One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple." For us, the "house of the Lord" is the Throne Room in Heaven, Hebrews 4:16. We're always welcome there! How often do we wish to be there?
