DAILY BIBLE READING - November 25 - December 1, 2018

11/25      Ezekiel 46-48 - Chapter 46 speaks about the prince worshipping and then he leads the people in worship.  Chapter 47 starts with the description of the river that will flow from the temple.  By verse 13 and through chapter 48, attention is given to the dividing the land in the Millennium.

11/26      1 Peter 3-5 - Chapter 3 gives a great word of encouragement to wives of unsaved husbands.  Their quiet, godly spirit is a strong witness to their husbands even if they can't speak up about Christ.  Chapter 4 is where Peter reminds believers that Christ suffered and we should expect to do the same.  In chapter 5 the emphasis is on a Christian's service for the Lord as he looks forward to the return of Christ.

11/27      Daniel 1-3 - The prophecy of Daniel is as important in the Old Testament as the prophecy of Revelation is in the New Testament.  In chapter 1 Daniel and his three friends are introduced and special attention is given to their determination not to be defiled with the food and the practices of Babylon.  God is seen as honoring their faithfulness to Him.  In chapter 2 the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, has a dream and insists that his magicians and astrologers tell him what the dream was and a explanation of it.  They protest that they can't, but Daniel prays and gives the interpretation to the king.  In chapter 3, Nebuchadnezzar makes an image that he insists all of his subjects to worship.  Daniel's three friends refuse and they are sentenced to the fiery furnace.  Their miraculous deliverance is recorded and Nebuchadnezzar is overwhelmed with God's display of personal protection of His own.

11/28      Daniel 4-6 - Daniel 4 gives the experience of Nebuchadnezzar's pride, downfall, and restoration.  In chapter 5 Belshazzar sees the "handwriting on the wall" and Daniel foretells the king's doom.  Chapter 6 gives the account of Daniel in the lion's den and his deliverance from the beasts.

11/29      2 Peter 1-3 - In Second Peter, he describes the conditions one should expect in light of the soon return of Christ.  Christians should live godly lives even when others will deny the truth of the Gospel.  Peter emphasizes God's patience for the lost in 3:9.  We should confidently expect God to use our witness for Him.

11/30      Daniel 7-9 - In chapter 7 Daniel sees a vision that coincides with the statue of chapter 2.  All four kingdoms: Babylon, Persian, Greek, and Rome are referred to.  Chapter 8 speaks of the Persians being defeated by the Greeks and the temple being desecrated.  In chapter 9 Daniel gives his prophecy of the 70 weeks and how they are broken down in sections which depict future events leading up to the tribulation period.

12/1        Daniel 10-12 - Daniel is given final visions which are recorded in these three chapters.  In chapter 10 God's glory is seen and Daniel is overwhelmed as he sees it.  In chapter 11 Daniel is given the prophecy regarding the events following Israel's captivity and leading up to events to take place before the Millennium.  In chapter 12 the tribulation is referred to and then the resurrection that will take place after it.  Daniel is told that this prophecy is sealed up until the time of the end.
