Great Passages on Faith:
I encourage you to pray and ask God to make the following passages a reality in your walk with the Lord. Let's BELIEVE GOD!
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV - "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV - "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."
Romans 4:20,21 NKJV - (Regarding Abraham) "He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform."
Ephesians 3:20 NKJV - "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us."
John 16:23 NKJV - "...Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you."
James 1:5,6 NKJV - "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting..."
Mark 11:24 NKJV - "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."
Mark 4:40 NKJV - "But He said to them, 'Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"
FRUIT in the Christian's Life
God's plan for Christians is to bear fruit in their lives.
John 15:16 NLT - "You didn't choose Me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit..."
Consider these passages to identify the FRUIT God wants to produce in each believer:
Galatians 5:22,23 NLT - "But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!"
I call these aspects of the Fruit of the Spirit the FRUIT OF A CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER.
Colossians 1:10 NKJV - "That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."
I call this the FRUIT OF CHRISTLIKE CONDUCT. And what you see is that you need to start with a good CHARACTER to produce good CONDUCT! But this also leads to another kind of fruit:
Colossians 1:6 NLT - "This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives..."
I call this the FRUIT OF CHRISTLIKE CONVERTS. As the Christians' CHARACTER is conformed to Christ their CONDUCT will have influence of the world around
them leading the unsaved to be CONVERTED to the Lord. Paul spoke of this kind of fruit in Romans 1:13. Take time to read this.
A CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER leads to CONDUCT and a CHRISTLIKE CONDUCT leads to winning CONVERTS for the Lord.
Praying the Scriptures - A Prayer for God's Glory
This is the first "Praying the Scriptures" prayer that comes right out of the Word of God. All the words are from the Psalms with only minor pronoun changes to personalize the prayer. This concept has been suggested by others over the years but I've found this to be so powerful! You're not just reading "somebody's prayer." You're taking God's Word and literally praying it back to Him! We struggle at times to say the "right thing" when we pray. You can't get more "right" than praying what God led His prophets and apostles to write! Other prayers from the Scriptures will be coming in time. All the Scripture passages used are taken from The New Living Translation and are listed below in the order of their use. I chose not to "chapter and verse" the prayer. I hope you appreciate the selections chosen.
May God bless you as you Pray for God's Glory. Make this your personal prayer to God.
"Not to me, O Lord, not to me, but to Your name goes all the glory. O God, I give glory to You all day long and constantly praise Your name. For You, O Lord, are supreme over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods. You thrill me, Lord, with all You have done for me! I sing for joy because of what You have done. O Lord, what great works You do! And how deep are Your thoughts. But You, O Lord, will be exalted forever. With all my heart I will praise You, O Lord my God. I will give glory to Your name forever, for Your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death. Praise You, Lord God...You alone do such wonderful things. Praise Your glorious name forever! May the whole world be filled with Your glory. Amen and Amen!"
Psalm 115:1; Psalm 44:8; Psalm 97:9; Psalm 92:4,5,8; Psalm 86:12,13; Psalm 72:18,19
(Feel free to copy this prayer and stick it in your Bible or put it on the wall of your Prayer Closet or War Room)
God's Ways are Beyond Mere Human Understanding.
Isaiah 55:8,9 NLT - "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts," says the Lord. "And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts higher than your thoughts."
Romans 11:33-36 NLT - "Oh, how great are God's riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand His decisions and His ways! For who can know the Lord's thoughts? Who knows enough to give Him advice? And who has given Him so much that He needs to pay it back? For everything comes from Him and exists by His power and is intended for His glory. All glory to Him forever! Amen.
Isaiah 40:13 NLT - "Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give Him advice or teach Him?"
Isaiah 40:28 NLT - "Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding."
Now, the Lord knows we can't understand Him by mere human effort. BUT, He has given us what we need to learn His ways and appreciate His understanding:
1 Corinthians 2:13-16 NLT - "When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit's words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren't spiritual can't receive these truths from God's Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can't understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means. Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For who can know the Lord's thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him? But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ."
