1 Peter 1:15 NKJV - "But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct."
The word "holy" comes from a word to be "set apart" or be considered special. It also means to be set apart from moral and spiritual error. But it's basic idea is to live what I'd like to call "A Set-Apart Life."
Every believer who has ever been used by God has been a believer who has lived a "set-apart life." They knew God had placed them on this earth and saved them so He could work through them to accomplish His purposes. They knew that God had bought them and they didn't own themselves. They wanted their lives to count for all eternity and bring glory to God.
This is a command to obey. Do you believe this as a personal command to you? Do you believe that God can give you the desire and the power to obey this? Tell Him so. Watch yourself be used of God as one who lives a "Set-Apart Life."
