1 Corinthians 4:2 NKJV - "Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.
FAITHFUL - One of the ways we describe our Heavenly Father, but also one of the ways we would like to describe ourselves - Being Faithful. Lamentations 3:23 speaks of God, "...great is Thy faithfulness." He sets the standard we all wish to follow. Our Daily Verse today speaks of that and we who have a sense of responsibility desire to be known as "faithful workers."
The point I especially want to focus on today is that of being consistent. That our lives are lived in such a way that people can rely on us, whether it be punctuality, or always being good-natured, or our accuracy in our work, or simply being "there" whenever our friends need us. Speaking of friends, consider Proverbs 17:17 NKJV - "A friend loves at all times..." You can always count on the kind and tender affection a real friend gives you. And you desire to show that same consistent affection towards your friends as well.
Paul relied heavily upon his friends and their consistent encouragement of him. He spoke of Epaphras in Colossians 4:12 as one who was "...always laboring fervently...in prayers..." In Philippians 4:15-17 Paul thanked the believers because they "...sent aid once and again for my necessities..." verse 16. And you can't help but see the faithful workers who ministered to Paul as he commends so many in Romans 16. These were just some of those who worked with Paul as often as they could to assist him in his ministry. May God help us all to practice this kind of consistent behavior in our homes, our work, our neighborhood, in the lives of our friends, and in the lives of those who serve our God.
