There are two very important thoughts that come to my mind from this verse: The first is the sad thought of just how many people will be in hell for eternity because they were just too proud. They wouldn't admit their sinful condition and receive God's salvation through Jesus Christ. Their pride kept them from humbling themselves before the Lord. That really is an awful reason why anyone would lose out on heaven for all eternity. But the nature of sin is focused on the middle letter of that word "i". Interesting that the same middle letter for "sin" is the same middle letter for "pride." People just have this nature within them to push any idea of God out of their lives and then they attempt to live as if God doesn't even exist.
The second thought that I see is just how spiritually "blind" people are to all the evidences of God's existence. God said in Romans 1:20 that creation itself is a testimony of His reality. Whenever they see the phenomenon of nature, the natural man just tries to find scientific explanations for all that's happened. The Christian, on the other hand, can't miss the power of God in all the intricate designs of nature. Where atheists try to "explain" creation without God, the Christian "enjoys" that same creation in praise to God!
Christian, part of our responsibility is to live our lives in such a way that people who know us well just can't miss that God is working in us. God's existence in our lives is real for the Bible says, "Christ lives in me," Galatians 2:20. Ask God to "shine" through your life and give people a reason to want to know your Savior.
