Colossians 1:11 NKJV - "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy."
Commentary: Just how strong can a Christian be? Look at the first words of this verse, "Strengthened with all might..." How much "might"? ALL might! In other words, all the might a Christian needs! And where does that come from? God gives from "His glorious power"! Do you get the point? God doesn't just give little might, or even much might. He gives all might! Peter Dyneka, a Slavic Gospel evangelist, wrote a book years ago entitled, "Little Prayer - Little Power; More Prayer - More Power; Much Prayer - Much Power!" I not only read the book, I had the privilege of sitting with the author at a Pastor's Conference at Moody Bible Institute back in the 1980's. Peter emphasized to me that he found in his many years of service to the Slavic people of Russia the truth of this in his own life. He knew God had ALL POWER and could give him ALL the STRENGTH he needed to serve in a country so opposed to the Gospel. And you, dear Christian, can avail yourself of this by the same means: PRAYER! As you face difficulty in ministry please get it clear: God is a God of "glorious power"! And He wants you to see He can work this into your life as you depend on Him. Now, also note what Paul said, "...for all patience and long suffering with joy." This might that God gives allows a Christian to patiently work and serve the Lord, even when there is discomfort and suffering. And the Christian can serve with joy, knowing that the work that is done for God has eternal results!
