PRAYER THOUGHT: "I have so much business I cannot get on without spending three hours daily in prayer." Martin Luther, 15th Century Reformer
Mark 1:35 NKJV - "Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed." Commentary: Do you use the excuse for not praying much, or not even praying at all, is because you're too busy? Do you have so much you have to do that you don't have time to pray? Isn't it interesting though, that those who give God the best hours of their day, usually the morning, and spend a lengthy time in prayer seem to get more done in a few hours than so-called "busy people" can get done in 12 hours? Our verse today speaks of Jesus getting up very early and going to a secluded place and taking time to pray, probably until after daybreak. Was He busy? He had an agenda from His Father to be the Savior of the world! He had much to preach and many places to go. In Mark 6:31 we read of Jesus and His disciples, "...for there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat." Probably some of you feel the same. Let me ask you, "Did you take time this morning and spend an hour or two alone with God before getting to your agenda?" Do you think you're busier than Jesus?
