PRAYER THOUGHT: "Be sure you look to your secret duty; keep that up whatever you do. The soul cannot prosper in the neglect of it." Philip Henry
3 John 2 NKJV - "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." Commentary: Where would you be right now if you were as physically healthy as you are spiritually healthy? At the start of a full marathon, or would you be knocking on the door of your local morgue? I'm afraid too many Christians would at least be anemic and suffering from malnutrition and hardly able to breathe. That translates, by the way, to neglecting the Word of God (nutrition) and praying (breathing)! God needs healthy Christians who care for God's work and God's people. Read all of 3 John. Gaius was a valuable servant of God who cared for the many Christians either fleeing persecution or on their mission trips wherever God was sending them. They all knew Gaius would be a source of spiritual encouragement and fellowship. That's what a healthy prayer time does. When you spend time in God's Word and take time to really pray you become spiritually strong and able to serve God with His strength flowing through you. Pray without ceasing. That's what God wants. Ceasing to pray. That's what the devil wants.
