A Personal Word from Pastor Eckardt
I want to thank all of you who read my Daily Verses each day and I trust you've found God's Word to be a joy to focus on, and I trust you've gained a little insight from my commentaries. I kind of patterned my thoughts after the Daily Bread idea and I realize there are many, many, many alternatives on the web for you to read. Sometimes I think it's amazing that I'm trying to add something more when so much is "out there" that is so rich with devotional encouragement. Soon, working with our website administrator, Karen Nocella, I hope to present a new appearance to our site. I'm not looking for "dazzling effects" or even beautiful pictures and designs. If something is done that looks nice then I'll be glad and trust the effect will bring glory to our Lord. What I am seeking to see is a website that will at least bring encouragement to our visitors to HUNGER AFTER GOD and DELIGHT IN HIM and LEARN TO PRAY WITH FERVENCY. I'm not interested in getting nice comments about what I say. I am interested in bringing people into a greater and closer walk with their God and Savior, Jesus Christ. A DAILY VERSE I would ask you to think on for now is a portion of Psalm 2:8, "Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance..." God invites His own Son to "ask for the nations!" It's people that Jesus wants more than anything! What Jesus wants is you, me, and everyone who comes to Him! He enjoys people. He wants His home in heaven "filled to overflowing" with those who were lost but now have been found! Now, here's the point: God not only wants Jesus to ask for the nations, but God wants us to ask God to give Jesus individuals all over this world! God wants us to pray for the lost and to do so knowing that Jesus will be the One who receives the greatest blessing! We so often ask for ourselves. Well, here's a call to ask on behalf of Jesus! God is moved by our prayers! God works as we pray! YOUR PRAYERS MATTER!! You matter to God! And your praying for the lost means God will bring more people to Him and give them to Jesus as part of His inheritance! Will you pray? Will you ask God to reach more people everywhere for His Son?
