Hebrews 4:13 NKJV - "And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

Commentary:

After sharing verse 12 with you yesterday it was obvious to go to verse 13 today.  It gives a very profound teaching that is "powerful" in its own right.  The teaching is:  God is aware of absolutely EVERYBODY on this earth!!  No one is outside of God's knowledge or outside of His concern!  "No creature" can mean exactly that!  No life-form is hidden from God.  And if that is true of every bird and bug, you can be sure it's true of every man, woman, boy, and girl!!  The Lord knows everyone and I personally believe, according to John 3:16, He LOVES EVERYONE!!  This carries with it two awesome thoughts:

First, when anyone feels forgotten, living as if they don't exist, God doesn't forget them.  That's a "lead-in line" of someone I know who loves to talk with people about the Lord.  He tells them, "God has not forgotten about you."  And that often opens up some precious conversations that bring people to consider the claims of Christ.  We used to have someone who sang a song about some people who live and die "as if they had never lived at all."  Oh, that's an awful thought, but there are people in our world who feel that lonely.  God wants them to know He's very much aware of them and would love to show them His love.  He's waiting for a Christian to cry out to God, "Show me, Lord, where those people are in my neighborhood, or school, or workplace."  God will show you!

Second, when you think you're getting "away with murder," you're not!!  God is aware of every sin and every occasion when God is not obeyed.  Remember our Daily Verse from yesterday.  All God has revealed we are accountable to know and obey.  This verse also emphasizes that we WILL give an account before God who is fully aware of our actions and our inactions.  Remember James 4:17, "Wherefore, to him who knows to do good, and does not do it, to him it is sin."

May we live our lives fully aware of God being fully aware of us at all times and in every place.  Find comfort knowing this, but recognize this is a warning as well.
