Insights on Today's Reading
Job 38 - God responds to this experience in Job's life, but not with an explanation as to "the WHY," but, more so, a focus on "the WHO," which is God. In both of these chapters God challenges Job's ability to create and control the universe as a whole, and the earth in particular. Of course the Lord is taking Job's thoughts off himself so he can consider the greatness of God even in his suffering. Job 39 - Continuing from the end of chapter 38 God speaks of Job's understanding and knowledge of the animal world which Job sees everyday. Can he give to these creatures what they need? Of course not, and neither can we. Can God take care of Job? Of course He can!
