Insights on Today's Reading
Job 40 - God challenges Job's audacity to argue with God. Can Job pass judgment on the wicked? Job recognizes his fault and agrees to be quiet. God speaks of Behemoth, possibly a hippopotamus. Can Job challenge this creature? Of course not. Why would he challenge God?
Job 41 - God speaks of Leviathan, possibly a crocodile, as a creature too awesome that no one can confront it. If Job can't face this creature why should he think he can face God with accusations?
Job 42 - Job admits his wrong. Job can see God with his own eyes. God rebukes the three friends and restores blessings to Job after he prays for his friends.
For many of you this may have been the first time you ever read through the book of Job. I hope the insights I've shared with you have helped and I trust you'll look forward to reading this book again and again.
