Insights on Today's Reading

Job 10 - Job knows God made him.  So why is God trying to "destroy him?"  For what reason was Job born?  The fact that Job asked such questions makes it clear that asking questions is very normal.  God is not offended when we ask for clarification.

Job 11 - Zophar doesn't accept Job's testimony of innocence.  He wants Job to "confess" his sin and then his life can be brighter and his troubles gone.  Job would find that God would vindicate him in the end.  See chapter 42.

Job 12 - Job defends his wisdom as equal to his friends and then shares his own insights into God's wisdom, vs. 13-16.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning on wisdom and Job certainly had the testimony of respecting God's authority over his life.  See chapter 1.

Job 13 - Job makes clear that even if God allowed Job to die, he would still trust Him, vs. 15.  But he asks God to stop oppressing him and not let terror frighten him, vs. 21.  Job naturally wanted relief, but he was willing to trust God even if the pain persisted.
