Insights on Today's Reading
Isaiah 31 - God makes clear that turning to people, like Egypt, instead of turning to God is foolish, verse 3. God will protect Jerusalem and deliver it, verse 5.
Isaiah 32 - This chapter speaks of a time when Christ shall rule and reign in righteousness, verse 2. He will be like a Rock in a weary land. Foolish people will be rebuked. And women who are "at ease" and complacent will be troubled. When the Spirit is poured out then the land will become fruitful, verse 15, and the effect of righteousness will bring quietness and assurance, verse 17.
Isaiah 33 - Jerusalem will be delivered and the Lord will fill it with justice and righteousness, verse 5. People will see the King, "in His beauty" verse 17. He will be the Judge, Lawgiver, King, and Savior, verse 22. People will live in Jerusalem and be forgiven of their sins, verse 24.
Isaiah 34 - This chapter speaks of the future judgment God will render to all the nations that have attacked Israel. It will be a day of God's vengeance, verse 8. Some see this as a prediction of Armageddon. God will surely bring this upon the world. His Word will not fail, verse 16.
