1 Kings 5 - God provides help for His children when they face awesome challenges. Solomon was getting ready to build the temple and someone who always appreciated David, verse 1, was Hiram, king of Tyre. He sent messengers to Solomon to offer help. Solomon asked for timber, lots of it! Hiram replied with joy that he could assist in this project. Solomon was wise in his actions and you see that in verse 12.
1 Kings 6 - All the noisy work on the temple wood and stone was done away from the actual site, verse 7. That meant that any fine tuning of each block of stone had to be done to exact standards at the quarry! Awesome task but God made sure it was done properly. God kept reminding Solomon, verse 12,13, that He would continue to bless Israel as long as they obeyed Him in all things. It took seven years to build the temple and it was an awesome structure when completed.
2 Chronicles 2 - King Hiram noted that God really loved His people by making Solomon their king, verse 11. The labor force that Solomon conscripted to work came from the many aliens (non-Israelites) that lived in the land. It was an awesome number of people but they had the privilege of being part of the work-force to build this magnificent building.
2 Chronicles 3 - Solomon built the temple on the site of where David sacrificed his offering to God after David's sin of numbering the people, verse 1. Detail is given for the Holy of Holies and the two carved cherubim that were overlaid with gold. These would hover over the Ark of the Covenant when it was placed in that Holist of rooms.
