Psalm 19:2 NKJV - "Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge."
Commentary: Obviously the context of our Daily Verse is verses 1-6 where David speaks of the "heavens" God has created and their "message" to the world. God does speak through His creation. What does He have to say? Romans 1:20 - "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse." The heavens declare three things about God: 1 - His existence. Simply put, creation assumes a Creator. 2 - His power. How else could all this creation be here without the power of an infinite God? 3 - His Godhead - He is not an impersonal "force" but the living Deity over all He has created. Psalm 89:5 - "And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O Lord; Your faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints." In this passage two more things are revealed through heaven's "speech" - 1. The Wonders of God. "O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds Thy hand hath made..." Creation causes us to wonder at God's wonders! Take a walk through Yellowstone forests, or along the path in the Grand Canyon, or the pristine beaches of the South Sea Islands and your heart "hears" the message of the heavens about God's magnificence! 2. His Faithfulness. Even scientist cannot escape the dependability of nature to do what has always been expected. Clocks, calendars, and the movement of the moon and the stars are all readily forecasted because of the faithfulness of God's creation which depends on the faithfulness of the Creator. Jeremiah 33:20,21 - "Thus says the Lord: 'If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season, then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne..." Every day and every night declare that God keeps His promises, even His great promise to David that one of His sons would be the Messiah of God for the salvation of men! If day and night would cease, so would God's promise be broken. Creation, the heavens, the order of nature all declare that God keeps His word and His people can depend on Him. Go outdoors, even if you're not at Yellowstone, and "listen" to heaven's voice and consider the knowledge it conveys of God's wonders declare!
