Insights on Today's Reading

Proverbs 4 - As you read this chapter you'll see the importance of following those who are wise and avoiding at all costs those who are evil.  The importance of caring for your heart is emphasized too, primarily because so much of your life is controlled by what controls your heart.

Proverbs 5 - Sexual sin is so deadly to a child of God.  if the devil can't curse you or keep you from trusting Christ, then he will seek to corrupt you with this kind of sin.  The wayward man or woman is reminded that God is aware of all they do.  Nothing is hidden from His gaze.

Proverbs 6 - Being lazy has brought many people to financial ruin.  God speaks of looking at the ants and learning from them for they are so eager to prepare for the future.  Seven deadly sins are mentioned, but note the last one deals with sewing seeds of discord in a family.  Solomon warns again regarding the danger of adultery and the damage it can do in individuals and families.
