Insights on Today's Reading
From Proverbs 10 through 24 you will find the use of contrasting thoughts as Solomon presents practical truth from both a positive and negative approach. Let's face it, sometimes we have to see the negative side of disobedience to appreciate the positive side of obeying God! May you find many proverbs to apply to your own life and/or to share with others.
Proverbs 10 - Proverbs are given to show how a wise son will seek to be righteous; how our mouths can be a "well of life" for others to draw from; and the differences between those who are righteous and those who are not.
Proverbs 11 - Honesty in business is not only appreciated by customers, but it is noted by God! The way people live has a definite affect on their cities and towns, note verse 10. Good counsel is important, vs. 14. And a believer who seeks to "win souls" is considered very wise, vs. 30. Keep looking for other practical proverbs in each chapter.
Proverbs 12 - A man's wife can add so much to his life, vs. 4. The way a person treats their pets is noted by God, vs. 10. When people get anxious they need words of encouragement from those who trust the Lord, vs. 25.
