PPIL - Powerful Passage Impacts Life
1 Corinthians 15:14 NKJV - "And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith in also empty." (Part One) Commentary: Another reason why the Resurrection of Christ is so very important is that it is the foundation of the Gospel we preach! How can we preach about a dead Savior who is still in the grave? How can we believe in someone who did lots of nice things and said some wonderful words, but is dead and buried? Nice words don't save anyone! Even good works, including Christ's, won't save anyone if He is still just "dead and buried." We preach Christ risen! And our preaching is not "in vain!" We have a message that is powerful because the center of our message, Jesus Christ, is ALIVE! We don't bring people to a grave side and tell them to "remember the life He lived" as if that's all there was to be said about Him. NO, we bring people to an empty tomb and declare to them that this same Jesus who was buried "ain't here no more!" He is alive and that makes our preaching alive! We have a Risen Savior who is ready to save all those who come to Him in faith.
