Deuteronomy 28 - This chapter presents the full account of the blessings Israel would receive if they carefully obeyed all of God's Law and instructions and the punishments they would face if they disobeyed. When you read the blessings you can't help but wonder how the people would ever give up those joys to engage in sinful activity! We should remember the blessings from God on our lives far outweigh the "temporary pleasures of sin" we may be tempted to pursue.
Deuteronomy 29 - Moses reminded Israel of all the powerful miracles God performed in their history. These should remind the Jews that their God is able to do these things continuously as they would trust in Him. But, as surely are His blessings, so sure are His judgments if they should disobey. The believer was to recognize that though their are hidden and secret things which are known by God alone, there are many clear instructions and commandments the believer is taught to obey.
