Insights on Today's Reading
Psalm 50 - This Psalm reminds the world that God will come and judge this earth. We can count on it. As believers, however, we do not need to fear. (Remember, Jesus was judged at Calvary already for you!) We will see God in His righteousness and we will praise Him. God speaks against the reliance on sacrifices that have no meaning. He makes clear to the world they should call on Him and give Him thanks. That's the "sacrifice" God is pleased with.
Psalm 53 - This is a repeat of Psalm 14. Anyone who would deny the existence of God is a fool. Creation declares clear and loud that He not only exists, but He is the ruler over all.
Psalm 60 - Often in David's experience, especially in battle, he called on God for help for the help of men was useless. He was assured success as God gave him the strength to face his enemies. You can count on God to do the same for you.
Psalm 75 - This Psalm assures ultimate victory for those who follow the Lord. God is the One who can lift up someone to an exalted position, but He can also humble those who are proud. Thank the Lord the your victory is found in Him.
