2 Samuel 22 - This chapter and Psalm 18 are almost identical. Just like the four Gospels have accounts that are similar so it can be that a Psalm of David in the Psalms is also given in a book that deals with his life. David not only lived an important life but he also wrote about his experiences, including his joys, griefs, frustrations and praises. We're the ones who benefit from his honesty in his prayers, praises, and complaints to God. Listen to the Spirit of God as He speaks to you through David's words.
2 Samuel 23 - This chapter gives us David's final words, perhaps even after his words to Solomon recorded in 1 Kings. He speaks of the Spirit of God speaking to him and putting His words on David's tongue. He realizes his life hasn't been all that it should have been but God still made him an everlasting covenant to him. The chapter gives us the list of men who served with David. I'm glad he recognized those that fought with him and gave their allegiance and loyalty to someone they trusted.
Psalm 57 - Like a young chick hides under the wings of its mother, so David found solace and safety under God's wings. His desire was that God would be glorified throughout the earth and the heavens. He had a steadfast love for God and he offered Him praise throughout his life. How often do we take time to praise our God?
