Insights on Today's Reading
Psalm 95 - As you read this Psalm you find yourself being called to worship. But remember, for the average Israelite that did not mean running up to Jerusalem every week. Some Jews didn't make it to the temple site but only three times a year. So their worship had to be where they lived. Their homes were their primary place to worship the Lord. Is yours? Psalm 97 - It seems the created world shows more respect and awe of God than humans do! Those who worship idols should be ashamed when they have a truly Awesome and Living God they should revere! Psalm 98 - This Psalm calls all to worship God even the seas and rivers should join in! One day the Lord will come and bring all people to acknowledge Him! Psalm 99 - Moses, Aaron, and Samuel called upon God and they found Him to be "God-Who-Forgives," verse 8. They were godly men but still they needed God's mercy. We all do.
