"God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."
Ephesians 2:8,9 NLT This is part of a running commentary of the book of Ephesians. These two verses are some of the most quoted verses in the Bible. And rightly so. As plain as it needs to be, salvation is a gracious gift from God received by faith as we trust in Christ. Even the faith to believe is a gift. And we can never boast in heaven that we got there by what we did. Our good works were simply not good enough! The implication is that God did the work through His Son's sacrifice on Calvary's cross. We're saved by grace and God receives all the glory! Pastor Eckardt
