Exodus 33:15 NKJV - "Then he said to Him, 'If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here."
Are you afraid to go out your door some mornings? Are you afraid even to get out of bed? Do you live with a constant fear of being left alone in a difficult situation? Or do you feel lonely most of the time anyway, whether things are going good or going lousy? Far too many Christians believe they are saved but somehow this Savior who saved them hasn't shown up since! They feel they're living without the One who died for them and forgave them of their sins. They feel they're on their own but at least still believing they'll go to heaven! What happened? They left their faith at the cross! It was great to be saved but somehow they didn't "get it" that Jesus literally came into their lives the day they got saved. Though they don't "feel" His presence doesn't change the fact that He never left them! And Christian, if you're one of those "lonely believers" today who lives in constant fear then you need to take the faith you believed when you trusted Christ and make that your faith every day! As surely as Jesus saved you He will always be with you, and for that matter, He has always been with you since you got saved! He never left. This is where the Word of God comes in and the fellowship of other believers is important. God gives faith through His Word. When you read of God's presence in the lives of His people throughout the Scriptures, and you know that God doesn't change, you can be assured that He will also be with you. God doesn't want you to believe only when you "feel" Him. He wants you to believe He is with you simply because God said so! "Faith in God's Facts" is better than "Faith in Your Feelings!" Also, fellowship with other believers is vitally important. When you spend time with them you'll find mutual encouragement as each one shares their experiences with God. You'll hear how God answered their prayers, how He helped them through difficult times, and how He wants you to believe He will do the same for you. When you know there is a time when believers meet together, join them. You will actually see yourself becoming the one who will be encouraging others to trust God's presence in their lives! Go back and get your saving faith where you left it when you trusted Christ as your Savior. Make that "saving faith" your "daily faith." When He entered your life at salvation He didn't leave! He's with you now. Trust Him!
