Psalm 113:5,6 NKJV - "Who is like the Lord our God, who dwells on high, who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth?"
I love this passage. It makes me realize that God is so AWESOME that I can't even begin to imagine His power, His authority in the universe, His abilities, His greatness, as well as His holiness, His righteousness, His love, grace, and mercy! I sometimes just have to sit back, look up, and say, "HOW GREAT THOU ART!" This passage shows that God "humbles Himself." Of course, I can see that in relation to me, as well as our earth. But these verses show that God "humbles Himself" to see what's going on in the heavens! That's Fantastic!
Every time I read what scientists are finding about our universe; every time I see some of the photos that the Hubble Telescope's cameras have caught, I can't help but stand in AWE of how wonderfully magnificent is our God! He made all that and He controls everything, but even more, as our verses say, He is above all He's made and He's over and even outside all He's made!
I see God not just living up to the song, "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands," but I see He's got the whole universe in His hands, let alone all the "other universes" scientists are saying probably exist. God is infinite to the degree that no one can imagine! He takes everything He's made, universe and all in it, and He can make a trillion times more if He chose to, and He'd still be able to put all that in His hands! I'm writing this and realizing I can't begin to fathom our God's Power!!
My family and I had the joy of visiting the Grand Canyon National Park back in 1992. Standing on the south rim and looking over that vast expanse of a canyon walls and scenery, I was in awe of just that! But I also realized that our God made far more than what I could see. And He was letting us know that He made that for our visual pleasure and He used places like that to draw us into greater worship of Him and stand in wonder at How Great Is Our God!
I hope these thoughts bless your heart today, too.
