Insights on Today's Reading
Ezekiel 46 - In worship the prince is to lead by the example in his worship. He may enter and leave by the same entrance, verse 8. However, when the people come to worship they are not to leave through the same gate they entered. If they came in at the north gate they were to leave by the south gate, verse 9. God had specific duties to be performed in specific places, verses 19-24. God has always been a God of order. Ezekiel 47 - A river will flow from the Temple symbolizing the healing power and the provision of sufficient food from God, verses 1-12. From verse 13 on Ezekiel speaks of the division of the land to the various tribes of Israel. Ezekiel 48 - The division of the land is continued in this chapter. It is noted that in the midst of the land would be the land devoted to the sanctuary and the prince, verses 8-22. The gates of the city would be named after the twelve tribes of Israel, verses 31-34. The city itself would have the name, THE LORD IS THERE, verse 35. The city wouldn't be worth anything if God wasn't there!
