Romans 8:31 NKJV - "What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?"

Whose opinion of you really matters?  Someone around you like your family, your friends, your co-workers, your boss, of any number of other people that are part of your life?  What about God?  Does His opinion of you make a difference to you?  It should!

I like to paraphrase the last part of our Daily Verse like this:  "If God is for me, who cares whose against me?!"  What people have to say about me is far less important to me than what God has to say.  This passage in Romans 8 tells me that God called me to Himself, He wants to conform me to be like His Son, He justified me, and in His eyes, He's even glorified me!  I'm important to God and He fully accepts me!  John 15:16 reminds us that it was the Lord who chose us before we ever thought of choosing Him.  Ephesians 1:4 tells us we were chosen by God before creation!  If He chose me then why should I care what others think about me?

Now Christian, isn't it a blessing when other Christians recognize this about you?!  Paul told us in Romans 15:7 that we should "receive on another, just as Christ also receives us..."  Often Christians loving other Christians helps them understand God's love for them.  And when we welcome new Christians into the family of God we're helping them understand God's acceptance of them.  But let's remember what Paul said, "If God is for us" don't let the opinion of others be more important than that.  You are accepted by Christ.  "Bask in the sunshine" of that thought!
