Insights on Today's Reading
Ezekiel 38 - We are introduced to the place called Gog, in the land known as Magog. Many believe this to be modern day Russia and we certainly see and have seen the animosity of this nation against the Jewish people. The prediction of this chapter primarily deals with the end times which is still future to us. Israel had many enemies down through the years and it shouldn't surprise anyone that this will continue until Christ's Millennial Reign. Ezekiel 39 - God will allow these northern enemies to attack Israel but then He will vanquish them. God's ultimate desire will be that these godless nations will one day "...know that I am the Lord" verses 6,7. Israel, too, shall know that God is there God, verse 22, when the Lord reveals His wondrous glory among the nations of the world. Israel will be restored to their land, verses 25-28. Then God will pour out His Holy Spirit on them, verse 29.
