Genesis 8 - Noah had faith in God's promises, and God did not disappoint him. Noah waited until the word of God told him what to do. The first things Noah and his family did on the cleansed earth was to worship.
Genesis 9 - God gave some new rules for life on the cleansed earth. Noah and his family could now eat animal flesh. The sanctity of human life was affirmed in the ordaining of human government.
Genesis 10 - From Noah's three sons God made a new beginning in human history. All the nations of the earth found their origin in Shem, Ham, and Japheth. It would be Shem that God would use to be His special channel of blessing in Abraham, the father of the Jewish nation. God's plan was for these families to fulfill His first great commission: to fill up the earth with image-bearers of God who would bring God glory.
Genesis 11 - Man disobeyed God's order to spread out over the whole earth. Instead, men tried to "make a name for ourselves" and establish their own kingdom. God gave them all new languages which would force them to separate from each other and ultimately fulfill His commission.
